I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Earthwatch team on a Live From the Field Fellowship this spring!
I will be joining a team of scientists and educational professionals on a fellowship team to study Climate Change and Caterpillars from 4/17/2009 to 4/27/2009. As part of my fellowship, I will communicate with my school “Live from the Field” using a satellite phone and web technology. Additionally, I will receive another grant to implement a conservation project of my own design to further engage the community upon my return.
Please check back often for updates, a blog, pictures, and live feed from this exciting opportunity!

New Orleans
Out in the Field
The Hunting for Caterpillars project examines the factors affecting interactions between caterpillars and their natural enemies – an important area of study for both agricultural and basic ecology.
This expedition is based out
of the laboratory and rearing facilities at Tulane University, as well as in the natural forests, swamps and urban habitats surrounding New Orleans, Louisiana. The field and laboratory techniques used at this site are the same
as those implemented at the Costa Rica, Ecuador, and Arizona research sites.
