What foods have carbohydrates? We used a fun iodine lab to find out!
Glucose Lab
We predicted what foods have high sugar content and the results were really surprising!
Food Labels Investigation
In order to select healthy foods, we have to first understand how to read food labels!
Helpful Hydrogels Lab
Water Conservation is becoming more and more important and we had a fun time learning about one way to save water!
Animal Visitors!
The Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh brought some animals to our classroom as a great introduction to our unit on Animal Adaptations!
Owl Pellets!
What are these strange things we dissected? It looks like....you know...Well, it turns out that we were dissecting owl pellets. The pellets are basically what comes out when an owl regurgitates the remains of its' dinner, which it cannot digest. Check out these awesome pictures to see what we found in the pellets!
North Carolina Relief Maps
A hands on way to learn about the regions of North Carolina!
Native North Carolina Feast
We are so thankful for our great nation and our great classroom! We first learned about what Thanksgiving would have been like in North Carolina with products only found in our great state. At our feast, we had a thankful tree and made placemats for the Chapel Hill Rehabilitation Center. It's fun to give thanks!
